Frequently asked questions
- What is sadaqah jariyah?
- Sadaqah jariyah is a form of charity whose benefit continues after the gift itself. A well that keeps giving water and a school that keeps teaching are the classic examples, as opposed to a one-off gift that is used up once.
- How do I know my donation actually arrived?
- Project totals on this page move only after Stripe sends a signed payment event confirming the charge. A payment that is still pending, or that failed, does not count towards a project. You also receive a receipt at the email address you enter.
- Who receives the money?
- Donations are made to Stichting Help4All. The product name, the checkout message and the Stripe metadata are all scoped to that foundation, so the destination is visible at every step of the payment rather than only in the small print.
- What happens if a donation is refunded?
- Refund events are reconciled against completed donations, so a refunded payment is removed from the project total. Progress shown on this page therefore reflects money that is actually held, not money that was once charged.
- Can I donate anonymously?
- Yes. There is an option to donate anonymously, in which case your name is not shown with the donation. You still provide an email address so that a receipt can be sent to you.
- Are my card details safe?
- Card data is handled by Stripe and never reaches Ummah OS. The payment happens on Stripe Checkout, which also carries out the strong customer authentication your bank requires.
